CDIC SMILES

Clear aligners

In one line

Clear aligners are removable, near-invisible trays that move teeth in small planned stages — suited to adults with crowding, spacing or mild bite issues who would rather not wear visible braces.

What it involves

A digital workflow: scan, plan, then staged sets of aligners.

  1. 1

    Intraoral scan

    About 20 minutes, one visit

A digital scan of both arches replaces impression trays and gives an exact 3D model of your teeth.

  2. 2

    Digital smile design

    1 to 2 weeks

The planned movements are simulated so you can see the intended end position before committing.

  3. 3

    Staged aligner sets

Each set worn 1 to 2 weeks

Each aligner moves the teeth a small, planned amount. Sets are issued in batches with review visits between.

  4. 4

    Refinement and retention

Final 4 to 8 weeks, then retainers

Small refinements finish the result, then retainers hold the teeth in their new position.

If you work in an office and don’t want braces

Most of our aligner patients are adults who did not have orthodontic treatment as teenagers. Aligners come out for meetings, meals and photographs, which is usually the deciding factor. The trade-off is discipline: they only work while they are in. Aftercare and retainers →
